James Harrington Butler

January 7, 1942 ~ January 15, 2020 (age 78)


James passed peacefully on January 15, 2020 after a period of declining health in Nevada. He was born January 7, 1942 in Winchester, MA to John and Alice Butler (Bennett). He graduated from Winchester High School in 1960. James was inducted into the army in 1963 where he was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia as a Personnel Clerk. He was honorably discharged in 1965 and started a career as an industrial engineer. James moved to Londonderry, NH with his wife Susan Butler (Leland) to raise their two daughters Barbara and Stacie. He enjoyed writing in his spare time and published a book titled “The Miller’s”. He spent his last few years traveling with his long-term companion, Arnetta. He is survived by his oldest daughter, Barbara Kelly and her husband Jonathan Kelly, his youngest daughter, Stacie Kirwin and her husband Andy Kirwin, His grandchildren, Erin Harris and her husband Cody Harris, Nathaneal Kelly, Emma Kelly, Mollie Kirwin, Samuel Kirwin, and his great grandchild Hannah Harris. He is predeceased by his brother, Robert Butler, and his parents John and Alice Butler (Bennett). A memorial service will be held at Goodwin Funeral Home located at 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester, NH on Saturday, January 18th at 3:00 PM.
