Obituary
Lee I. Freedman, 84, passed away at home on March 15, 2015. He was born in Woodmere, NY, on November 29, 1930, the son of Jack and Ruth (Gluck) Freedman. Lee graduated from high school in Yonkers, NY, and attended Syracuse University. He served in the U S Marine Corps in Corpus Christi, TX, during the Korean War. Lee was a merchandise manager/buyer for several prominent stores including Lane Bryant, Kennedy's, Rook's of MA & Pariseau's of Manchester. Lee owned and operated Frugal Fashion Outlet stores in Manchester, Concord and Laconia. After closing the stores, Lee operated for 20 years what he is most remembered for, Lee's Spot, a used book store located in downtown Manchester, until his retirement at age 80. Lee liked to call himself "The Bookie". He was passionate about photography, loved to travel and enjoyed scrabble and reading.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Roberta; a daughter, Jeri Freedman; three sons, Jack and his wife Rosemary, Mark and his wife Susan, and Miles and his husband Anthony Abruzese; a step-son, Karl Alterman; four grandchildren, Laura and Matthew Freedman, and Alex and Kyle Alterman, and his dog Mopsi. He was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Appleton; and his step-son, Phillip Alterman.

Services: There will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester. Burial will follow at the Manchester Hebrew Cemetery.
