Nadia J. Richmond Husson, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2015. She was born in Lit-et-Mixe, Landes, France on December 20, 1920. Nadia was educated in France and England. During WWII she proudly served with the Free French Forces based in London. While there she met US Army SSG James Richmond. After the war she came to Quincy, MA where she married Jim in 1946. They moved to Manchester in 1953. For many years she was a substitute French teacher in the Manchester school district, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Nadia taught Sunday school and held a number of positions at Calvary Baptist Church in Manchester for many years, and in recent years attended Faith Baptist Church.
Nadia leaves behind her son, Mark (June) Richmond of New Boston; three grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Richmond of North Canton, OH, Katherine (Joshua) Root of Albany, NY, and Anne Richmond of Moscow, Russia; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Mason Richmond, Annabelle and Samuel Root; step-son, Richard (Mercedes) Husson of Manchester; step-daughter, Beverly (Will) Callender of South Portland, ME; nieces Chantal Thompson of Spanish Fork, UT, and Joelle Chesnel of France; and many nieces and nephews in the Richmond family.
Nadia was preceded in death by her husbands, James Richmond in 1977, and Franklin Husson in 1996; and her sister, Yvette Peron.
Per Nadia's wishes, there are no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Funeral Home
