Obituary

Sead Palkic, age 57, a loving and kind husband passed away in his home on February 06, 2020 after an 11-month battle with a Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Tumor, which he fought courageously. He was a long-time resident of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Born on September 28, 1962, in Zenica, Yugoslavia, to Tufik and Hasmeta (r. Heco) Palkic. A dedicated and patriotic Yugoslavian, (Bosnia-Herzegovina) Sead was a Fire Fighter for 15 years. In Yugoslavia, he spent time with friends in café’s listening to music, dancing and enjoying life to the fullest. He traveled in the company of close friends where lifetime memories were formed. He wrote poetry and had a passion for fishing.

Sead came to the United States and rebuilt his life here beginning in 1998. He began working at Osram Sylvania, where he worked for 11 years. He moved from production to being a machine mechanic; quality of work always took precedence. He was a proud man who placed high importance on doing good work each day.

He then moved to GE Aviation – General Electric in Hooksett, NH; employed there for 11 years where he sought out new learning opportunities whenever possible. His ability to understand and troubleshoot manufacturing issues lead fellow employees to invite Sead to assist in solving problems. He was chosen several times to represent his department in showing visitors the intricacies of the manufacturing process.

Sead continued his interests and hobbies here in the U.S. An avid fisherman he would go to York, Maine during the summer months and return with “fish tales.” He refinished furniture and worked diligently on his home in the North End which gave him a sense of accomplishment. Sead spent time with his closest friends at Derryfield Country Club or Strange Brew Tavern enjoying good music and great company. He loved listening to the music of Djordje Balasevic, Azra, AC/DC and Queen. He was always active, loved playing pool or dice games. Mostly, Sead was the greatest husband. Compassionate and kind with an endless sense of humor. He loved to hold his wife's hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tufik and Hasmeta Palkic.

Sead is survived by his wife and best friend of 20 years, Toni JM George-Palkic of Manchester, NH. A son in Kentucky, a sister and brother in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
